What we do

Woonbase provides free calculators for net salary, mortgage affordability, and rental housing in the Netherlands. All calculations are based on publicly available data from official Dutch sources and updated yearly.

Woonbase is not a government website. Results are estimates — for formal advice, consult a certified financial or tax advisor.

Our sources

We base our calculations on publicly available rules and data from:

• Belastingdienst — Dutch Tax and Customs Administration (tax brackets, credits, 30% ruling)
• Rijksoverheid — Dutch central government (mortgage norms, housing rules)
• Huurcommissie — Dutch Rent Tribunal (points system, legal rent thresholds)
• NHG — National Mortgage Guarantee (limits and conditions)
• Nibud — National Institute for Family Finance Information (mortgage affordability norms)
